Proud Mommy moment

Last week Tristan was roaming through one of our storage areas and found a box of worksheets that my mom bought me as a child. I didn't ever really get into them and they had an overlay to make them reuseable. Tristan whipped one out and started tracing numbers on his own. Finished one sheet and pulled out another. He easily did 5 work sheets in a row on his own. Next he brought me one that involved counting and circling in the correct number. He flew through it and only struggled for a second on the number 5. As I changed the laundry I came back in time find that he had pulled out another and done it all by himself. It had 10 different sections and you had to count the items in each area and circle the number. He got them all right on his own except 1 (Again with the 5). They get progressively more difficult and I was like man.. he doesn't know adding yet or subtracting. I pulled out the card with the info about the worksheets. No wonder they were getting harder so fast.. the ones he was doing were KINDERGARTEN and First grade sheets!! OMG he's only 4 1/2 and was easily doing kindergarten work on his own. He doesn't fully grasp the adding/subtracting but could figure it out with manipulatives. I'm so proud of my little guy! Now if he'd just figure out how to use the over lay and not write on the actual papers ;) Baby steps! LOL
